4)What role do you think the imperialism of the 19th and 20th century played in the sparking of the Civil war in Sierra Leone?
During the imperialism of Africa, different parts of Europe wanted the same parts of Africa other people wanted. The Europeans were afraid that there was going to be wars between themselves. So they came up with a way to discuss these problems, thus the Berlin Conference. The European focused mostly on the parts of Africa that had the most valuable resources.

Can you speak of what the resources which were considered valuable were? I ask because it is not clear which natural resources were available in Africa or which ones the Europeans were interested in.
